Center of Vocational Alternatives for Mental Health

The Center of Vocational Alternatives for Mental Health (COVA) was a non-profit healthcare organization based in Columbus, Ohio, that specialized in vocational rehabilitation for individuals living with mental illness. Founded in 1982, the organization provided evidence-based services including job coaching, benefits counseling, and employment placement to help clients achieve economic self-sufficiency and community integration. COVA was a pioneer in the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, which integrates vocational services directly with clinical mental health treatment. In 2017, the organization merged with Southeast Healthcare to consolidate resources and provide a more comprehensive continuum of care for the community.
