Biomed-Warszawa, originally established as the Central Laboratory of Sera and Vaccines in Warsaw, was a prominent Polish manufacturer of immunobiological preparations. Founded in 1945, the company specialized in the production of vaccines, human sera, and probiotics, playing a critical role in Poland's public health infrastructure. Its most recognizable product, the probiotic Lakcid, remains a staple in the Polish market for treating intestinal flora disturbances. In 2010, the company was acquired by Polfa Warszawa, integrating its specialized manufacturing capabilities into the Polpharma Group. Today, the Warsaw facility continues to serve as a key site for biological production, maintaining the legacy of one of Poland's oldest biotech institutions.
