Centre for Proteomics and Genomics Research

The Centre for Proteomics and Genomics Research (CPGR) is a South African non-profit organization providing advanced 'omics' services to the life sciences sector. Established in 2006 through an initiative by the Department of Science and Innovation and the Technology Innovation Agency, it offers high-throughput genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics solutions. The center supports both academic research and commercial biotech ventures, aiming to stimulate the bio-economy in Africa. Its facilities include state-of-the-art laboratories for DNA sequencing, mass spectrometry, and data analysis. CPGR also plays a key role in training and capacity building for scientists across the continent.
