Company intelligence / Profile preview
Centurion of Arizona is a healthcare services provider that specialized in delivering comprehensive medical, mental health, and dental care to incarcerated populations within the Arizona state prison system. Originally established as a joint venture between Centene Corporation and MHM Services, the company operated as a key entity within Centene's correctional health division for nearly a decade. In 2022, Centene divested the Centurion business to an affiliate of The Jordan Company, a private equity firm. Centurion of Arizona was the primary healthcare contractor for the Arizona Department of Corrections, managing care for over 30,000 inmates through an integrated model that included primary medicine, behavioral health programs, and pharmacy services. Although its statewide contract in Arizona concluded in 2022, the company remains a prominent example of managed care application in correctional environments.
