Cephalogics

Cephalogics was a medical device company that developed a non-invasive, portable brain imaging system based on High-Density Diffuse Optical Tomography (HD-DOT). The technology was designed to provide continuous bedside monitoring of regional brain oxygenation and perfusion, particularly for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, or those in neonatal intensive care. By mapping oxygen saturation through the skin and skull, the system aimed to help clinicians detect perfusion deficits early and avoid ischemia. The company was founded as a spin-off from Washington University in St. Louis and was a portfolio company of Allied Minds. In 2017, Allied Minds discontinued funding for the company as part of a portfolio restructuring, leading to the cessation of its operations.
