Company intelligence / Profile preview
Cerca Magnetics is a UK neurotechnology and medical-device company commercializing wearable magnetoencephalography systems based on optically pumped magnetometers (OPMs). The company spun out of the University of Nottingham in partnership with Magnetic Shields Limited to bring integrated OPM-MEG brain imaging systems to research customers. Its flagship Cerca OPM-MEG System is a non-invasive, wearable functional brain scanner designed for use across babies, children, and adults, including during movement. The company combines quantum-enabled magnetic sensors, shielding, and helmet-based system integration to support neuroscience research in conditions such as epilepsy, autism, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and psychiatric disease. The system is offered as a research-use product and, based on publicly available company materials, does not currently hold medical or regulatory approval in any jurisdiction.
