Changchun Changsheng Biological Products

Changchun Changsheng Biological Products was a major Chinese vaccine manufacturer based in Changchun, Jilin Province. Founded in 1992, it became one of China's largest producers of human vaccines, including rabies, DTaP, and varicella vaccines. The company was a subsidiary of the publicly traded Changsheng Bio-technology Co., Ltd. However, the company collapsed in 2018 following a massive scandal involving the falsification of production records for its rabies vaccine and the distribution of sub-standard DTaP vaccines. Consequently, the Chinese government revoked its pharmaceutical production licenses and imposed fines exceeding $1.3 billion. The company was eventually declared bankrupt in 2019 and delisted from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
