Changchun Changsheng Life Science and Technology

Changchun Changsheng Life Science and Technology was a prominent Chinese biopharmaceutical company that specialized in the research, development, and production of human vaccines. Based in Changchun, Jilin Province, the company was a subsidiary of the publicly traded Changsheng Bio-technology and was once one of the largest vaccine manufacturers in China. Its product portfolio included vaccines for rabies, varicella, influenza, and hepatitis A. In 2018, the company became the center of a major national scandal after investigations revealed it had falsified production and inspection records for its rabies vaccine. This led to the revocation of its manufacturing licenses, the imposition of massive fines exceeding $1.3 billion, and the arrest of several executives. Consequently, the company was delisted from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and declared bankrupt in 2019.
