Changshan Kaijiejian Biopharma is a Sino-American joint venture established in 2012 by Hebei Changshan Biochemical Pharmaceutical and ConjuChem LLC. The company specializes in the development of long-acting therapeutic proteins and peptides using the proprietary Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) technology platform, which utilizes recombinant human albumin fusion to extend drug half-life. Its lead product candidate, abenatide (also known as ibenatide), is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist that has successfully completed Phase 3 clinical trials and is currently under regulatory review in China for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Beyond metabolic diseases, the company is also advancing a pipeline of innovative therapies in oncology, including a c-Met inhibitor program.
