Changsheng Bio-technology was a prominent Chinese vaccine manufacturer based in Changchun, Jilin Province, specializing in human vaccines for infectious diseases. The company was one of China's largest producers of rabies and DPT vaccines until 2018, when it was discovered to have fabricated production and inspection records. This scandal led to a massive public health crisis and a record fine of 9.1 billion yuan ($1.32 billion) from Chinese regulators. Consequently, the company's manufacturing licenses were revoked, and it was forcibly delisted from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. In late 2019, the company was officially declared bankrupt, marking a significant collapse in the Chinese biotechnology sector.
