There are several similarly named pharmaceutical companies operating under the "Changtai" brand in China—including a notable API/raw material supplier established since at least the late '90s ("Yanan"/"Yan’an"), a finished drug developer with an active clinical pipeline ("Jiangsu"), and another focused on raw materials ("Lvjing"). The most prominent R&D-driven operation appears to be "Jiangsu Changtai Pharmaceutical", which develops small-molecule drugs targeting psychiatric disorders (bipolar), respiratory diseases (COPD/asthma), and cancer pain—with some products already approved or late-stage clinical development. Other branches/entities focus primarily on herbal extracts/intermediates rather than novel therapeutics development. All identified operations are currently active private Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturers with no evidence of recent acquisition or public listing status as of June 2025.
