Company intelligence / Profile preview
ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda, formerly known as Charlotte Regional Medical Center, was a 208-bed acute care hospital located in Punta Gorda, Florida. Founded in 1947, the facility served as a primary healthcare provider for Charlotte County, offering services in cardiology, orthopedics, and robotic surgery. The hospital was part of the Health Management Associates (HMA) network before being acquired by Community Health Systems (CHS) in 2014, leading to its rebranding as Bayfront Health and later ShorePoint Health. Following catastrophic damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton in late 2024, the hospital ceased operations and was permanently closed. In March 2025, AdventHealth acquired the hospital's assets and land as part of a regional expansion, though the facility remains closed as of early 2025.
