Chem-Trak

ChemTrak was a medical diagnostics company specializing in the development and commercialization of rapid, easy-to-use diagnostic tests for consumer and professional use. The company is best known for developing the AccuMeter, the first FDA-approved over-the-counter home cholesterol test. Throughout the 1990s, ChemTrak focused on expanding its portfolio to include tests for HIV and other health markers, aiming to empower patients with at-home monitoring tools. However, the company faced significant regulatory and financial hurdles, leading to its eventual liquidation and the sale of its assets in 2001. Its technology and product lines were primarily acquired by Home Diagnostics, Inc.
