Chemas

Chemas is a South Korean clinical-stage biotechnology company specializing in the discovery and development of novel inorganic therapeutics for oncology and viral diseases. The company's proprietary drug discovery platform focuses on arsenic-based compounds with stable molecular structures, low toxicity profiles, and clinically validated safety characteristics. Chemas's lead candidate is CM-7919 (also known as TetraAs or tetraarsenic hexoxide, As4O6), an orally active polymorphic inorganic small molecule. CM-7919 is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for uterine cervical cancer and Phase 1 trials for other solid tumors, including bladder and brain cancers. Mechanistically, the drug induces mitochondrial ROS-mediated pyroptosis and apoptosis, inhibits angiogenesis, and suppresses tumor metastasis.
