Chemi Pharmaceuticals

Chemi Pharmaceutical was a Canadian GMP analytical contract laboratory serving the pharmaceutical, natural health product, cosmetic, veterinary, and later cannabis testing markets. The company provided quality control and release testing, stability studies, method development, method optimization and validation, and elemental and heavy metal testing from its Mississauga, Ontario facility. It held a Health Canada Drug Establishment Licence and had a facility that Aurora described as US FDA accredited/audited, supporting regulated analytical services. In April 2019, Aurora Cannabis acquired the company and integrated it into Anandia Laboratories to expand independent cannabis and pharmaceutical analytics capabilities. Chemi Pharmaceutical was therefore a services business rather than a therapeutic drug developer and did not have a conventional clinical pipeline.
