Chemovator

Chemovator GmbH serves as the business incubator of BASF SE. Founded in 2018 and based in Mannheim, Germany, it invests in and accelerates early-stage startups—both internal BASF teams and external founders—focused on sustainability, next-generation materials, process innovation, circularity solutions, and life science applications. It provides pre-seed investment, mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs/BASF experts, access to BASF’s global network/resources/expertise, office space support in Mannheim or via coworking partners like 1.000 Satellites. Since inception it has evaluated over 200 ideas with more than 30 accepted into its program; several have spun out as independent companies or been reintegrated into BASF’s portfolio.
