Chicago Labs was a specialty biotechnology company focused on the development of novel therapeutics targeting the endothelin system. Founded by Dr. Anil Gulati, the company pioneered research into endothelin B receptor agonists, specifically IRL-1620 (sovateltide), to improve blood flow to tumors and treat neurological conditions like stroke. The company successfully licensed its oncology technology to Spectrum Pharmaceuticals and established significant R&D collaborations before merging with EndogenX. Its core technology and pipeline programs eventually became the foundation for Pharmazz, which continues to advance these candidates through clinical trials.
