Chilcott Laboratories

Warner Chilcott, historically known in part as Chilcott Laboratories, was a leading specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the women's healthcare, gastroenterology, dermatology, and urology markets. The company developed and commercialized a diverse portfolio of branded products, including well-known treatments such as Actonel for osteoporosis and Loestrin for contraception. Headquartered in Ireland with significant operations in the United States, the company grew through strategic acquisitions of product portfolios from larger firms like Procter & Gamble and Sanofi-Aventis. In 2013, Warner Chilcott was acquired by Actavis in a multi-billion dollar deal, which eventually became part of the Allergan and subsequently AbbVie corporate structures.
