Company intelligence / Profile preview
Chimerix is a U.S. biotechnology company that historically focused on antiviral therapeutics and later pivoted toward rare oncology, with dordaviprone as its lead asset for H3 K27M-mutant diffuse glioma. The company was founded around proprietary lipid conjugate technology designed to improve delivery and activity of antiviral nucleoside analogs, and it later added the imipridone oncology portfolio through the acquisition of Oncoceutics. Chimerix advanced dordaviprone into late-stage development and also developed earlier-stage imipridones including ONC206 and ONC212. In April 2025, Jazz Pharmaceuticals completed its acquisition of Chimerix, making it an indirect wholly owned subsidiary. Chimerix is therefore no longer an independent public company, but its assets continue within Jazz's oncology portfolio.
