Company intelligence / Profile preview
China Bio-Immunity Corporation was a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Dalian, China, that specialized in the development and manufacturing of vaccine-based products. The company operated primarily through its subsidiary, Dalian Jingang-Andi Bio-Products Co., Ltd., and was a significant provider of rabies and mumps vaccines in the Chinese market. In early 2009, the company became the center of a major public health scandal when Chinese regulators discovered that it had added unapproved nucleic acid to its rabies vaccines to boost potency. Consequently, the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) revoked the company's production permits, confiscated its profits, and imposed heavy fines. This regulatory action led to the company's voluntary liquidation and dissolution later that year. The scandal remains a notable case in the history of pharmaceutical regulation in China.
