China Biopharmaceuticals Holdings, Inc. (CHBP) was a vertically integrated pharmaceutical company based in China, formerly listed on the U.S. OTC Bulletin Board. The company specialized in the discovery, development, manufacturing, and marketing of a broad range of pharmaceutical products, including small and large molecule drugs, vaccines, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Its primary operations were conducted through its majority-owned subsidiary, Suzhou Erye Pharmaceutical, a prominent manufacturer of antibiotics such as penicillin and cephalosporins, and Enshi Pharmaceuticals, which produced generic Western and Traditional Chinese Medicines. In 2009, CHBP was acquired by the U.S.-based cell therapy company NeoStem (now Lisata Therapeutics) in a strategic move to establish a manufacturing and commercial footprint in China. At the time of its acquisition, the company maintained a portfolio of over 260 approved drugs and reported annual revenues of approximately $26 million.
