Company intelligence / Profile preview
Chongqing Holley Holding was a prominent Chinese pharmaceutical company and a key subsidiary of the Holley Group, specializing in the development and production of artemisinin-based anti-malarial drugs. The company was instrumental in establishing a comprehensive global supply chain for artemisinin, spanning from the cultivation of Artemisia annua in the Wuling Mountains to the manufacture of high-quality active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished formulations. It achieved international recognition through a landmark partnership with the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) and Sigma-Tau to develop Artekin (dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine), one of the first fixed-dose combination therapies for malaria to meet international standards. Although the listed entity (formerly SZSE: 000607) divested its pharmaceutical assets in 2010 to pivot toward the energy metering sector, its legacy remains central to China's contribution to global malaria control. Today, its former pharmaceutical operations are largely integrated into other Holley Group affiliates, such as KPC Pharmaceuticals.
