Chronic Disease Innovation Centre

Chronic Disease Innovation Centre is a Canadian independent non-profit health research and innovation organization embedded within Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The organization partners with public- and private-sector groups to conduct clinical research, health economics studies, big-data analytics, nutrition research, and healthcare service redesign focused on chronic disease prevention and management. CDIC is particularly active in chronic kidney disease, where it has helped develop and validate risk-stratification and community screening approaches such as the Kidney Failure Risk Equation and Kidney Check. In addition to academic research, the centre works with industry and health-system partners on clinical trials, virtual care, innovative service delivery, and commercialization-oriented projects. Its business model is service- and partnership-based rather than centered on proprietary therapeutic drug assets.
