ChyloRelief is a biotechnology company focused on developing mRNA-based therapies for severe lipid disorders, primarily Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS). The company was spun out of the University of Pennsylvania based on the research of Dr. Daniel Rader and Dr. Marina Cuchel. Its core technology utilizes lipid nanoparticles to deliver mRNA encoding for the lipoprotein lipase (LPL) enzyme, aiming to restore triglyceride metabolism in patients with LPL deficiency. By providing a functional version of the missing enzyme, ChyloRelief seeks to prevent the severe, recurrent pancreatitis associated with extremely high triglyceride levels. The company is currently in the pre-clinical stage, advancing its lead candidate toward human trials.
