Cira Biosciences, Inc. was a biotechnology company focused on the development of patient-specific cellular therapies for the treatment of cancer, viral infections, and autoimmune diseases. A majority-owned subsidiary of Navidea Biopharmaceuticals (formerly Neoprobe Corporation), the company utilized its proprietary Activated Cellular Therapy (ACT) platform to create personalized immune-based treatments. The ACT technology was licensed from The Ohio State University and Cira LLC, and it aimed to leverage the patient's own immune system to target specific disease markers. Despite early clinical interest and technology assessments, the company was dissolved in October 2013 as its parent company shifted its strategic focus toward precision diagnostic agents. Cira Biosciences was headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, and operated as part of Navidea's broader biopharmaceutical portfolio.
