CITIC Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was a leading pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare services provider in China, primarily serving the Beijing and Northern China markets. As one of the top three distributors in Beijing, the company specialized in the wholesale, logistics, and supply chain management of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare information technology. In 2011, the company was acquired by Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Pharma) for approximately 4 billion RMB, a landmark deal that significantly expanded Shanghai Pharma's footprint in Northern China. Following the acquisition, the entity was integrated into Shanghai Pharma's northern platform and renamed Shanghai Pharma Keyuan Xinhai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (SPH Keyuan). Although the original entity is no longer independent, the CITIC Group continues to operate in the healthcare sector through its subsidiary, CITIC Medical & Health Group.
