Company intelligence / Profile preview
Claret Medical is a medical device company that developed the Sentinel Cerebral Protection System, the first FDA-cleared device designed to protect patients from the risk of stroke during Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). The system is a dual-filter device delivered via the right radial artery that captures and removes embolic debris dislodged during the procedure before it can reach the brain. Clinical data demonstrated that the Sentinel system could capture debris in 99% of TAVR cases and significantly reduce the volume of new cerebral lesions. The company was acquired by Boston Scientific in 2018 to strengthen its structural heart portfolio. Today, the technology is a widely adopted standard for embolic protection in interventional cardiology.
