Overview

ClarVista Medical developed the HARMONI Modular Intraocular Lens System to address limitations of traditional IOLs used in cataract surgery. The system allows surgeons to exchange the optic component postoperatively to optimize vision outcomes. Early clinical studies showed successful implantation with no serious device-related adverse events and improved stability compared to traditional IOLs. The Harmoni system received CE Mark approval in Europe and was undergoing further studies for FDA submission at the time of its acquisition by Alcon in 2017.
