Company intelligence / Profile preview
Clinical Pharmacology Institute (CPI) was a specialized clinical research organization (CRO) based in Miami, Florida, that focused on Phase I and Phase IIa clinical trials. Established in 1988, the institute gained a reputation for excellence in conducting complex clinical pharmacology studies for the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The facility offered a wide range of services, including first-in-human trials, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling, and specialized patient population studies. In 2002, CPI was acquired by PRA International, which is now part of ICON plc, to serve as a cornerstone for its early-phase clinical research operations. The acquisition allowed for the integration of CPI's high-acuity clinical capabilities into a larger global service network.
