Company intelligence / Profile preview
Clinical Trials Xpress (CTX) was a clinical research site network and site management organization (SMO) established by the University of Texas System in 2015. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the initiative was designed to provide a centralized "front door" for pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CROs) to conduct multi-site clinical trials across the UT System's academic medical centers. CTX streamlined the trial process by implementing a common Institutional Review Board (IRB), standardized master clinical trial agreements, and centralized budgeting and contracting. In 2018, the network was recognized as a Strategic Site Alliance Network Member by Parexel, focusing on Phase II-IV trials in therapeutic areas such as oncology, neurology, and infectious diseases. Although it played a significant role in advancing academic-industry partnerships, CTX officially expired as an entity in February 2019, with its functions being integrated back into the individual UT institutions.
