Clinovia was a leading UK-based provider of high-tech home healthcare and clinical trial support services. Founded in 1992, the company specialized in the home delivery of complex clinical treatments, including parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, and therapies for rare diseases such as enzyme replacement therapy. Beyond patient care, Clinovia offered specialized CRO services to the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on home-based clinical trial nursing and the logistics of investigational medicinal products. The company was a pioneer in the decentralized clinical trial space, enabling patients to participate in studies from their homes. In 2006, Clinovia was acquired by Bupa for approximately £90 million and was subsequently integrated into Bupa Home Healthcare before being sold to Celesio.
