CLONDIAG Chip Technologies

CLONDIAG Chip Technologies was a German biotechnology company specializing in the development of microarray-based diagnostic systems and lab-on-a-chip technologies. Founded in 1998 as a spin-off from the Institute for Physical High Technology in Jena, the company focused on miniaturized testing platforms for clinical diagnostics, environmental analysis, and food safety. Their core products included the ArrayTube and ArrayStrip systems, which enabled multiplexed detection of nucleic acids and proteins in a portable format. The company was acquired by Inverness Medical Innovations (later Alere) in 2006, and its technology served as the foundation for several point-of-care diagnostic platforms, including the Alere i (now Abbott ID NOW). Today, the former CLONDIAG operations continue as part of Abbott's rapid diagnostics division in Jena.
