Company intelligence / Profile preview
CMC ICOS Biologics was a U.S. biologics development and manufacturing company based in Bothell, Washington, formed in 2007 when CMC Biopharmaceuticals acquired the former ICOS biologics operation from Eli Lilly. The company operated as a contract development and manufacturing organization supporting preclinical, clinical, and commercial production of therapeutic proteins, with capabilities spanning mammalian cell culture, microbial fermentation, process development, analytical testing, and cGMP manufacturing. It was associated with proprietary and branded service offerings including the CHEF1 mammalian expression system and the PROVEO Alliance for antibody-drug conjugate support. CMC ICOS Biologics later became part of CMC Biologics and, following AGC's acquisition of CMC Biologics in 2016, was folded into the AGC Biologics organization launched in 2018. As a result, the historical CMC ICOS Biologics entity is best understood as an acquired legacy CDMO brand/site rather than an independent operating company today.
