Company intelligence / Profile preview
COBE Renal Care was a leading provider of hemodialysis equipment and services, originally operating as a division of COBE Laboratories. Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, the company became a pioneer in the development of dialysis machines, dialyzers, and blood tubing sets. Its innovations significantly advanced the treatment of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease by improving the efficiency and safety of blood purification. In 1990, the company was acquired by the Swedish medical technology firm Gambro, which further integrated COBE's technologies into a global renal care platform. Following Baxter International's acquisition of Gambro in 2013, the legacy of COBE Renal Care continues as part of Baxter's extensive renal portfolio. The company is recognized for its contributions to both in-center and home-based dialysis solutions.
