Company intelligence / Profile preview
Codena was a Canadian biotechnology company specializing in the development and commercialization of organic-based botanical bio-pesticides. Founded in 2001 and based in Quebec, the company focused on researching and formulating bio-insecticides derived from specific plant extracts as safer alternatives to synthetic chemical pesticides. Its product portfolio included formulations such as emulsifiable concentrates for greenhouse applications, micro-emulsions for turf management, and ready-to-use sprays for the retail market. The company's technology was designed to be compatible with integrated pest management (IPM) programs and met stringent environmental standards. In 2006, Codena was acquired by AgraQuest, a leader in biological pest management, which was later integrated into Bayer CropScience following Bayer's acquisition of AgraQuest in 2012.
