Cogen Therapeutics was a Cambridge-based biotechnology company launched by Flagship Pioneering to pioneer the field of immune synapse medicine. The company developed a proprietary platform designed to decode the interactions between T-cells and their targets at unprecedented scale and resolution. By mapping the "immune synapse," Cogen aimed to discover and develop a new class of drugs that could precisely tune the immune system to treat autoimmune diseases, cancer, and infections. Its technology integrated high-throughput biology, DNA sequencing, and advanced data science to identify the specific antigens recognized by the immune system. In October 2020, the company merged with Senda Biosciences to combine its immune-mapping technology with Senda's programmable drug delivery systems.
