Company intelligence / Profile preview
Cohera Medical developed TissuGlu Surgical Adhesive, a resorbable, biocompatible adhesive designed to reduce fluid accumulation and eliminate the need for surgical drains after large flap surgeries. The product received CE Marking and was commercialized in Europe starting September 2011. In January 2015, it received FDA premarket approval as the first internal-use surgical adhesive of its kind in the US. The company also pursued additional indications such as bowel sealants and hernia mesh fixation but failed to secure further approvals before ceasing operations due to funding issues after a failed second product line.
