Company intelligence / Profile preview
Columbia Laboratories was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on women's health and advanced drug delivery technologies. Its most notable product was CRINONE® progesterone gel, commercialized through partnerships with Actavis in the US and Merck Serono internationally. The company developed five marketed products using proprietary bioadhesion-based sustained-release platforms. In recent years, its business shifted toward contract development/manufacturing and analytical laboratory services via its subsidiary Molecular Profiles. In the mid/late 2010s it was acquired by Juniper Pharmaceuticals; its original pharma business ceased as an independent entity but some laboratory operations continue under the Tentamus Group umbrella.
