CoMira Diagnostics

CoMira Diagnostics was a molecular diagnostics company specializing in the development of non-invasive liquid biopsy tests for the early detection and management of cancer. The company's core technology platform identified specific genetic and messenger RNA (mRNA) markers in blood samples to help clinicians distinguish between benign and malignant tumors, particularly in lung and breast cancer. By providing a less invasive alternative to traditional tissue biopsies, CoMira aimed to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs associated with indeterminate diagnostic results. In January 2016, CoMira was acquired by OncoCyte Corporation, which integrated CoMira's intellectual property and research into its own diagnostic pipeline. This acquisition eventually led to the commercialization of advanced cancer screening tools, including the DetermaVue and DetermaRx tests.
