Community First Medical Center

Community First Medical Center is a Chicago-based acute care hospital providing inpatient, emergency, diagnostic, specialty clinic, rehabilitation, and outpatient services. The hospital was saved from closure in December 2014 by its physicians together with Community First Healthcare of Illinois and now operates as a 299-licensed-bed community hospital. Its service mix includes emergency medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, spine care, radiology, pathology and laboratory services, pain management, rheumatology, rehabilitation, and extended care. Community First also maintains clinical affiliations in selected areas, including tele-pediatrics with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and a prior obstetrical/midwifery collaboration with Advocate Health. It is a healthcare delivery organization rather than a drug-development biotech or pharma company.
