Compellis Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that focused on developing intranasal formulations of existing drugs. The company utilized its proprietary delivery technology to create treatments for central nervous system disorders, addiction, and metabolic conditions. Its most notable programs included intranasal naloxone for the reversal of opioid overdose and intranasal naltrexone for binge eating disorder. In December 2013, Compellis was acquired by Lightlake Therapeutics (now Opiant Pharmaceuticals), an acquisition that was instrumental in the eventual development and FDA approval of Narcan Nasal Spray.
