Complexa Therapeutics

Complexa was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel therapies for inflammatory and fibrotic diseases. The company's platform centered on nitrated fatty acids (NFAs), which are endogenous cell-signaling mediators that modulate multiple pathways, including Nrf2, PPAR-gamma, and NF-kB. Its lead candidate, CXA-10, was evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). Despite significant venture backing, the company ceased operations around 2021 following challenges in its clinical development programs. The technology was originally licensed from the University of Pittsburgh.
