Company intelligence / Profile preview
Comprehensive Medical Imaging (CMI) was a prominent American provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging services, at one point operating as the third-largest fixed-site imaging center chain in the United States. Originally a subsidiary of the radiopharmaceutical leader Syncor International, CMI was part of Syncor's $1.1 billion acquisition by Cardinal Health in 2002. In 2004, the company was divested to InSight Health Services Corp. for approximately $48.6 million, which integrated CMI's network of centers across multiple states into its own operations. CMI was a pioneer in providing advanced imaging modalities like PET and MRI, serving as a critical link in the diagnostic and treatment planning process for complex diseases.
