CompuCyte was a specialized life science instrumentation company that pioneered Laser Scanning Cytometry (LSC) technology. The company developed and manufactured high-content imaging systems, including the iCyte and iScan platforms, which bridged the gap between flow cytometry and traditional microscopy. These systems allowed for the quantitative, multiplexed analysis of cells and tissues while preserving their spatial and morphological context. CompuCyte's technology was primarily utilized in oncology research, drug discovery, and complex cell biology studies. In December 2011, the company was acquired by Thorlabs, which integrated its imaging capabilities into their broader life science offerings.
