Concateno

Concateno was a leading European provider of drug and alcohol testing services, specializing in toxicology and diagnostic solutions for the workplace, healthcare, and criminal justice sectors. The company offered a wide array of services, including laboratory-based screening, point-of-care testing devices, and expert witness services for legal proceedings. Formed through the consolidation of several specialist testing firms such as Medscreen and Cozart, Concateno established a dominant market position in the United Kingdom. In 2009, the company was acquired by Alere (formerly Inverness Medical Innovations) for approximately £147 million. Following Abbott's acquisition of Alere in 2017, Concateno's operations were integrated into Abbott's Rapid Diagnostics division.
