Confirma was a medical technology company that specialized in computer-aided detection (CAD) and image analysis software for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The company's flagship product, CADstream, was designed to automate the processing, analysis, and reporting of MRI studies, particularly for breast and prostate cancer. By providing standardized imaging protocols and advanced visualization tools, Confirma aimed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of cancer diagnosis. The company was a pioneer in the CAD MRI space and was the first to receive FDA clearance for an MRI CAD system. Confirma was acquired by Merge Healthcare in 2009 for approximately $22 million.
