CONRAD Clinical Research Center

CONRAD is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving global reproductive health by developing new, safe, and affordable contraceptive methods and HIV prevention technologies. Established in 1986 through a cooperative agreement between Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and USAID, the organization operates as a Product Development Partnership (PDP). CONRAD focuses on the development of multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs) that simultaneously prevent unintended pregnancy and the transmission of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Their research portfolio includes innovative delivery systems such as long-acting intravaginal rings, gels, and injectables, with a specific focus on meeting the needs of women in low-resource settings.
