Consolidated Pharmaceutical Group (CPG) was a specialized pharmaceutical company focused on the development and manufacture of bulk antibiotics and finished dosage forms. The company was particularly recognized for its expertise in the production of penicillins and cephalosporins, operating significant manufacturing facilities in Baltimore, Maryland. In May 1997, CPG was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries for approximately $35 million in cash and stock. This acquisition was a strategic move by Teva to expand its antibiotic portfolio and strengthen its manufacturing presence in the United States. Following the acquisition, CPG's operations and facilities were integrated into Teva's global supply chain and generic drug division.
