Consumer Genetics

Consumer Genetics, Inc. was a biotechnology company focused on direct-to-consumer (DTC) genetic testing services. Founded in 2005 and based in Mountain View, California, the company gained prominence for its "Pink or Blue" test, which offered early fetal gender determination using non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) technology to detect Y-chromosomal DNA in maternal blood. The company also developed the GeneSieve platform, designed to screen for various genetic disorders and carrier statuses. Although it was a pioneer in the retail genetic testing space, the company eventually ceased operations and is currently considered inactive.
