Company intelligence / Profile preview
Contraflu Pte. Ltd. was a Singapore-based biotechnology company focused on developing innovative therapeutics for influenza and other upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs). The company's proprietary technology platform, Antibody-based Modulation of Biological Response (AMBRe), was designed to develop antibody-based therapeutics that modulate host immune responses. Its lead candidate, Contaflu (also known as TAO1), is an oral therapeutic consisting of homeopathic dilutions of purified rabbit antibodies targeting the cytoplasmic fragment of human toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3). Contraflu was evaluated in the Phase 2 ESTUAR clinical trial for the self-treatment of the common cold, demonstrating potential efficacy in moderate-to-severe cases. The company has since been struck off and is no longer active.
